Fairfax County is preparing a two-year noisy-vehicle monitoring pilot aimed at loud cars in Tysons and Hybla Valley, 7News / WJLA reports. Starting in January 2027, the county plans to use Blue Line Solutions devices with microphones and cameras on Westpark Drive and Richmond Highway. When a vehicle registers above 95 decibels, the camera captures an image; Supervisor Dalia Palchik said photos are reviewed before being sent to police, and a $100 fine follows. Drivers will get written warnings during a 30-day grace period instead of citations. Supervisors framed the effort as a response to resident complaints, with Supervisor Rodney Lusk saying Fairfax police issued 1,181 loud-muffler citations in 2025. House Bill 55 gives Fairfax a two-year test window before any long-term use.
